brute force detection

hello. i have started having a problem while trying to log into cpanel or whm. kp getting the message:

Brute Force Protection
This account is currently locked out because a brute force attempt was detected. Please wait 10 minutes and try again. Attempting to login again will only increase this delay.

i have waited up to an hour and still cannot log in using either username or root. what has caused this, because it locks out out IP's and i have only logged in once. also, i have tried either IP's and still the same. any help much appreciated. cheers.

You can login via ssh and disable cphulkd using the command below. This should allow you to login and double check your cphulk settings to be sure they aren't configured to tight before re-enabling cphulk.

/usr/local/cpanel/bin/cphulk_pam_ctl --disable
